More about the artist

Gintaras Malinauskas is a woodturning artist specialising in crafting exquisite decorative vases. During his short 4 year career as a woodturner he has earned multiple awards and appraisals and has been featured in galleries across Ireland.

Gintaras was born and raised in Lithuania. Since he was a child he has always shown a keen interest in woodworking. When he moved to Ireland in 2002 he had the opportunity to build a small workshop at the back of his house. Here he had the space and time to perfect his hobby. During that time he crafted beautiful furniture for his home. He also created intricate pieces like chests, clocks and candelabras using a scroll saw.

Gintaras joined the Midlands Chapter of the Irish Woodturners’ Guild in 2014, where he was able to meet other like-minded artists and develop his craft.
